In observance of Black
History Month, this concert features a performance of Aaron Copland's
iconic Lincoln Portrait, narrated by Tim O'Brien. The band will also present the world
premiere of the complete Diamond Tide by Viet Cuong. A
medley of tunes from The Sound of Music will celebrate the
50th anniversary of that legendary musical and motion picture. Works by Frank
Ticheli, Joaquín Turina and John Mackey present vivid musical portraits of
people and places. Richard Floyd conducts.
Tickets are $12 for adults;
$8 for students and seniors.
