NowPlayingAustin.com is a project of Greater Austin Creaive Alliance, a 30+ year old nonprofit performing arts service organization for Austin and Central Texas. ACoT's history as a ticketing and information center for the arts coupled with its many services designed to strengthen the arts community and bring new audiences to the arts has inspired our search for a comprehensive arts calendar information and ticketing system. We met the people behind the Artsopolis Marketing Partnership at our annual APASO conference (Assocation of Performing Arts Service Organizations) and knew immediately we had found something that could make all our arts organizations "perform'' really well — and make them stars out there on the internet.

The development of this project is guided by our governing committee, our staff, and the greater Arts and Cultural community. Our partners include the Wachovia Foundation, the Meadows Foundation, the Austin Community Foundation, and the National Endowment for the Arts. Austin Circle of Theaters is itself funded in part by a grant from the City of Austin through the Cultural Arts Division and by a grant from the Texas Commission on the Arts and by an award from the National Endowment of the Arts which believes that a great nation deserves great art.
