FUNNY FORUM 11
The
2011 Austin City Council Candidate Charity Roast
The Twelfth edition of “FUNNY FORUM” will feature candidates from this year’s council race accepting the invitation to Roast each other for a good cause. The cause might even be their own favorite Charity - if they are Funny enough.
WHAT: Since 1988 whenever there has been a Council election, Universal Publishers (a special event advertising & publishing company) has invited those candidates running for office to participate in a mutual roast for Charity. Unlike other candidate forums, in this “Funny Forum”, the audience actually gets to vote immediately afterward on which candidate they think is funniest. Door proceeds are then issued to the funniest candidate’s designated charitable organization.
WHEN: Sunday: May 8, 3:00 p.m.
WHERE: COLD TOWNE THEATER, 4803-B Airport Blvd.
OTHER: Arthur Simone – improvisational actor, abstract expressionist artist, teacher, and Cold Towne Theater co-founder will emcee. CURRENTLY UNKNOWN improv rap artist will augment the entertainment. Complimentary hors d’voeures will be available for attendees’ appetites.
This and all previous FUNNY FORUMS have been or will have been videotaped and edited for broadcast on public access television. We are expanding the event’s potential benefit by including DVD sales with television broadcast and Internet interaction.
MESSAGE FOR CANDIDATES UNDECIDED on participating!!!
ALL candidates running for contested seats are eligible and will be listed in the program/ballot for the event. A space to fill in the candidate’s desired charitable organization will be next to the listing. ALL AUSTIN CITY COUNCIL CANDIDATES are welcome!
COST: A suggested donation of $20 gets you in the door with an “official” Funny Ballot.
